HELENE WOOD

Helene Wood has been an insurance professional for over 30 years.  Her passion for teaching and ongoing learning led to her becoming an accredited course provider with the various Insurance Councils in 2002.  Since then, she went on to get numerous seminars accredited to ensure brokers, agents and adjusters not only obtained their annual credit hours but obtained quality educational knowledge to assist them in their everyday worlds.  Her strong Level 1 and Level 2 courses assist both newcomers and existing brokers to get to the next level of their career.   As a full time broker herself she brings practical knowledge to the Level 1 and Level 2 courses helping to solidify the knowledge students are learning. To continually provide quality seminars, Helene has aligned herself with both industry and non-industry experts in their field.

Theresa

THERESE SAVOIE

Therese Savoie started her insurance career in Victoria BC where she took the position simply because she needed a job. That was over 28 years ago. Therese’s work experience expands working as a broker, as a direct writer agent and now as a broker again. She has been sharing her insurance knowledge by teaching insurance courses for the past 5 years.

When Therese is not working or teaching, she enjoys walks in nature, various crafts, yoga and spending time with her two adult sons.

PAT MARTENS, B.Sc (Hons.) B.Ed. M.A.

Pat’s professional teaching career started on the shores of Hudson Bay, teaching high school students in Fort Churchill, Manitoba and culminated as a Dean at the Southern Institute of Technology in Calgary, Alberta. After SAIT, Pat was hired as the Education and Training consultant for Keyera Corp., a Calgary-based mid-stream oil and gas company.

Pat has Bachelor’s degrees in Science (majors included Zoology and Microbiology) and Education (major Administration) from the University of Manitoba and a Master's degree in Educational Leadership from Gonzaga University. Pat’s Master’s thesis was the integration of Six Sigma and ISO in the classroom in order to enhance student performance. This integration of education and standardized quality processes led to the development of the Career Pathway’s program which was Internationally recognized by Cisco Systems in San Francisco in 2008.

For the past seven years, Pat was the Health, Safety and Environment Manager of a Calgary-based disaster restoration company. In his role, Pat developed and taught environment-specific training seminars for the restoration technicians, adjusters, and others in the industry. The competency-based modules integrate communications, health & safety and environment which are all core skills for those working in emergency restoration. Today’s restoration industry requires an educated and competent workforce in order to meet the new “Standard of Care” that is demanded by the regulatory organizations and the community we serve.

DR. MARK KOLODZIEJ

Dr. Mark Kolodziej is a father of 2 children and has been married for over 30 years. He has worked with emergency responders, oil and gas executives and has taught at the post-secondary level.  He is a licensed psychotherapist with 2 PhD’s in adult learning and counselling psychology.   Mark’s passion lies in helping others to be the best version of themselves which include reducing mental pain as well as improving ones competence physically. Mentally and spiritually.  Mark has developed programs in leadership, competency management, marriage, anger management, sexual addictions, employability skills , stress and anxiety management and others.

GEORGE COOPER

George is an enthusiastic and energetic individual with over 40 years experience in the personal and professional development, management, sales and service areas of the insurance profession. He is an instructor with the Chiu School of Business at Bow Valley College and the Insurance Institute of Southern Alberta.
