  • Navigating The Phases Of A Water Loss – Emergency, Administration, Rebuild and Beyond

  • A broad overview of the scientific methods and theories used by professional water damage restorers adhering to IICRC S500 guidelines. Participants will partake in hands on exercises and demonstrations including:

    • Category and Class identification for a variety of water losses.
    • Industry Technology – drying equipment, measurement tools and emerging technology including Esporta.
    • Use of mathematical formulas for calculating proper equipment loads for drying (air movers and dehumidifiers).
    • Analysis of actual Psychrometric readings (temperature, relative humidity and specific humidity) provided by restoration contractors. A practical guide to interpreting this information and its implications for equipment usage on water damage claims.

Participants will participate in discussion around communication in the claims process through the lens of various stakeholders including the insurer, adjusters, agents, brokers, insureds, tenants, property managers and restorers. We will identify specific challenges and solutions that address those challenges.

Additionally there will be a discussion surrounding the long term implications of improper drying. Including examination of examples of water losses where mold was an accepted portion of an insurance claim.  This seminar is presented by Jodi Scarlett.
